Comfort Is the Enemy of Calling
We live in a world obsessed with comfort. Comfortable routines. Comfortable careers. Comfortable faith.
But the truth is this — comfort never called anyone higher.
Somewhere along the way, we started confusing comfort with peace. But comfort is about control. Peace is about trust.
And when you’re chasing your God-given calling, you’ll quickly learn:
God didn’t create you for comfort. He created you for calling.
Comfort says, “Stay here.” Calling says, “Go.” Comfort says, “Play it safe.” Calling says, “Step out in faith.”
The most meaningful seasons of my life — in business, faith, and family — didn’t come from what was easy. They came from what stretched me.
The Seduction of Comfort
Comfort feels good because it’s predictable. But purpose? Purpose disrupts. Purpose shakes things up.
There was a time when my life was… fine. Business was stable. Things were moving. From the outside, everything looked good.
But deep down, I knew God was calling me to something greater. He was stirring me — not for more success, but for more significance.
That’s when I took the leap to launch Rvv Corp.
It wasn’t the comfortable move. It was the conviction move. It meant risk. It meant faith. It meant stepping into the unknown.
But I knew — if I stayed where it was safe, I’d miss what was sacred.
God can’t multiply what you’re unwilling to move.
So I moved. And that’s when everything changed.
Purpose Requires Pressure
Purpose and pressure go hand-in-hand.
No one grows in the comfort zone. Faith, strength, and character are all forged in the fire.
When I coach baseball, I see it every season. It’s not the easy wins that make the team better — it’s the innings where the game is on the line. The moments when pressure reveals who’s prepared.
The same is true in life and leadership. Pressure doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong place — it means you’re in the refining place.
James 1:12 — “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life.”
God uses the squeeze to show you what’s inside. He uses challenges to shape you for what’s coming next.
Pressure produces purpose.
Living for Calling Over Comfort
When I built Rvv Corp, I didn’t just want to build a company — I wanted to build a calling.
A place that uplifts people. A mission that turns passion into purpose. A team that believes in faith-fueled execution.
That meant walking away from what was easy, predictable, and safe. But here’s what I’ve learned: your comfort zone will keep you safe, but your calling will make you significant.
And significance lasts.
Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
God designed each of us with a unique blueprint — gifts, passions, and opportunities that no one else can fulfill. But those gifts only activate when we step out in faith.
Purpose Is About People
Purpose is never just about you. It’s about who God wants to reach through you.
Your calling might start in your heart, but it’s confirmed through the impact you make in others.
Every decision to serve, to give, to coach, to mentor — that’s you living out your purpose.
When I’m coaching my team, leading my family, or guiding entrepreneurs, I remind myself:
“This isn’t about building my name. It’s about glorifying His.”
Because your true purpose always leads you back to people. And the fruit of your purpose is the lives you change.
Step Into Your Calling
Comfort will always whisper, “Stay where it’s safe.” But calling will always shout, “Step where it’s sacred.”
The greatest rewards in life come from the greatest risks of faith.
When you stop chasing comfort and start walking in calling, you trade safety for significance — and that’s where God does His best work.
So stop asking for comfort. Start praying for courage. Start believing that you were made for more.
Because you weren’t created to be comfortable. You were created to be impactful.
Isaiah 6:8 — “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.’”
